Cultural Anthropology and Art

The lectures focus on the interpretation of the scope and coverage of social and cultural anthropology. Attention will be paid to the interpretation of the scheme, the basic concepts and theories of social and cultural anthropology, with special regard to the visuality of culture and native arts and cultural centres in the world.

The lecture is focused on the interpretation of the subject, scope and coverage of social and cultural anthropology. Attention will be paid to the interpretation of the scheme, the basic concepts and theories of social and cultural anthropology, with special regard to the visuality of culture and native arts and cultural centers in the world. The aim of the course is to provide students with a comprehensive introduction to the social and cultural anthropology with an emphasis on the visual and native art. After completing the course, students will understand theoretical, epistemological and methodological basis of social and cultural anthropology with regard to the anthropology of art. Students will have knowledge of the effects of native art at the European fine arts; will understand the relationships between the arts and culture; course will strengthen their ability of interdisciplinary thinking.
